The method involves providing a component i.e. magnet, of an overall system e.g. hydraulic system, in contact with a fluid e.g. hydraulic fluid. The component of the overall system is provided with a coating for increasing the adhesion of the dust particles to make the dust particles to reside on the component of the overall system. The component is coated partially or in sections, where the coating contains resin, lacquer and highly viscous oil. The coating is formed in a multi-layered manner.
