Flat surface loudspeaker, has bending resistant plate excited by flexural vibration for radiating sound via electromechanical transducers, and mechanical-electrical transducer for generating measuring signal corresponding to sound
The loudspeaker (1) has a bending resistant plate (2) i.e. membrane, that is excitable by flexural vibration. Electromechanical transducers (3, 4) i.e. oscillator coils, are attached on the plate to convert electrical sound signals (9, 10) into flexural vibration. A filter device (8) is connected to the electromechanical transducers, and exhibits a transfer function (13). The plate excited by the flexural vibration radiates sound via the electromechanical transducers. A mechanical-electrical transducer (7) i.e. microphone, generates a measuring signal (11) corresponding to the sound. An independent claim is also included for a method for determining acoustic characteristics of a flat surface loudspeaker and room acoustics.
