The invention relates to, inter alia, a device (1) for determining considerably fluctuating contents of volatile substances in liquids (2), comprising an expulsion area (3) for expelling the compounds from the liquid to the gas phase (4), and a gas phase sensor device (5) for detecting the compounds expelled to the gas phase. According to the invention, a gas access determination agent (6a1, 6b1, 6c1)for determining access to the gas phase sensor device (5) is provided.
