The superimposed steering system (1) has an overriding drive (2) in a gearbox housing (3) for linkage of a steering angle supplied by a driver on a gearbox input shaft (4) of the overriding drive, with an angle supplied by a servomotor (6) in a servomotor housing (7) on another gearbox input shaft (5) to a total angle on a gearbox output shaft (8). The gearbox housing or the servomotor housing is divided longitudinally in two housing parts (9,10) in approximately the direction of the gearbox output shaft.
