The method involves generating signals by a draw sensor (2) out of a setpoint device (1) for a required speed of a motor-boat (11), which are processed by a data processing device (3) and a guide oscillator (4). A guide oscillator cycle is compared with a signal of a speed regulator (6) of a drive engine (7) of the motor-boat in a phase comparison step (5) as a regulator.
