The method involves detecting a depletion layer-temperature of components e.g. capacitor, and the period of temperature deviation for evaluating a detected value based on load characteristics of manufactures and for summing consumption value to a lifetime usage value. Different types of electronic and/or electrical components are adapted and applied to a power electronics assembly. A specific adapted, detected and evaluated procedure is used for the components. Detected values are independently monitored for the components.
