The method comprises utilizing exhaust gases of the fuel cells of a fuel cell system for tempering the reformats, for evaporating the fuel in combustion processes and for supporting the reformation of the gas mixture developed during the evaporation in a construction unit made of heat transmission plates by using a system from inlet openings and outlet openings formed in the plate. The fuel cell system is provided for generating a flow from a fuel made of liquid and/or gaseous hydrocarbons or alcohols. The heat transmission plates are similar and are stacked one on the other. The method comprises utilizing exhaust gases of the fuel cells of a fuel cell system for tempering the reformats, for evaporating the fuel in combustion processes and for supporting the reformation of the gas mixture developed during the evaporation in a construction unit made of heat transmission plates by using a system from inlet openings and outlet openings formed in the plate. The fuel cell system is provided for generating a flow from a fuel made of liquid and/or gaseous hydrocarbons or alcohols. The heat transmission plates are similar, are stacked one on the other, are catalytically coated to a part and forms flow chambers. Evaporation of the fuel, reformation of the gas mixture developed during the evaporation and heat transmission take place in the fuel cell system. The exhaust gas developed in the combustion processes is used through heat transmission for preheating the air to be guided on a cathode-side. The flow chambers are formed between the plates by molded structural elements of the plate. The molded structural elements form a rib structure. The combustion processes take place in the flow chambers between the plates. One of the plates is catalytically coated. The developed heat of the combustion processes is transferred into an adjacent flow chamber. The reformation of the gas mixture developed during the evaporation takes place in the flow chamber. The flow chamber is limited by the plate, which is provided with a catalytic coating supporting the reformation. The system guides the involved media from the inlet openings and outlet openings in the plate exclusively through the plate and the flow chambers between the plates. A flow path of the media is predetermined within the construction unit via the determined inlet openings and outlet openings by targeted sealing of other inlet openings and outlet openings. An independent claim is included for a fuel cell system for generating a flow from a fuel made of liquid and/or gaseous hydrocarbons or alcohols.
