The device (1) has a guide unit (4) comprising a clamping device (5) and a linear guide (12) e.g. symmetric dovetail guide, that is aligned in a longitudinal direction (15). The clamping device has two clamping jaws (18) and is provided for clamping a finger ring (2) and a cutting device (3). A guide component (14) is arranged on the cutting device. The guide unit is manufactured from a single rectangular metal piece (10). The guide component is inserted into the linear guide of the guide unit in a form-fit manner so that the cutting device is movable in the longitudinal direction.
