The bench has a specimen support accommodating a transmission, and a drive device (14) coupled with the transmission. A module component is provided with standard elements that are adapted individually to the transmission. The module component is provided with a drive strand (10). The drive strand, an output strand and a pallet index are arranged on a machine bed (12). The machine bed is manufactured as a single-piece frame from casting or designed as a welded part. The machine bed accommodates longitudinal transmissions and transverse transmissions.
