The invention relates to a method for the computer-aided exploration of states of a technical system. In this method, the states of the technical system are traversed by performing an action in a respective state of the technical system, which leads to a new state. Using a security function and a return rule, it is ensured that a large amount of data is passed through states and actions during the exploration, and at the same time that no impermissible actions occur, which, for example, occur. B. can directly or indirectly lead to damage to the technical system or a faulty operating condition. The method according to the invention has the advantage that a large number of states and actions are collected via the technical system, which can then be used in a learning process to determine a suitable control of the technical system. The inventive method can be used for any technical system, a preferred application is the exploration of conditions in a gas turbine. The method can be used both in the real operation of a technical system and in the simulation of the operation of a technical system.
