The device has a tangential belt (12) for driving a spinning rotor (9) over a shaft that is torque-proofly connected with the spinning rotor. A set of magnets (19) is attached to the shaft connected with the spinning rotor and exerts magnetic force (B) on the shaft in an area of a belt running surface (11) and/or in an area of a roller bearing (4) that is turned towards the belt running surface. A bearing unit (1) has a bearing housing (2), in which the shaft is supported by two roller bearings (3, 4).
