The device has multiple light sources (2) e.g. organic LED, arranged around horizontal circumference of an object position (1). A digital controlling device (3) selectively controls the light sources to generate different light geometries e.g. dark field lighting, light field lighting, top illumination, transmitted light, point light, ring light, line lighting, surface lighting, and dome lighting, with respect to an object arranged on the object position, such that light radiation is selectively variable. An independent claim is also included for a spatial image recording system, comprising a device for lighting an object.
