The device has an expanding element (4) inflatable by compressed air and deforming a flexible tarpaulin (2) at a roof of a vehicle (1). A valve connects the expanding element with a brake controller of the vehicle and is controlled by the brake controller. The brake controller automatically activates the valve during activating the ignition of the vehicle and releasing of spring-loaded brakes when a temperature sensor notifies a temperature that is below a predetermined threshold value. The sensor and a speed sensor are connected with the controller.
