The system has an ultrasonic transducer (5) for transmitting and/or receiving measuring signals, which are spread in a plane on a signal path (6) inside a measuring tube (2). A regulation/evaluation unit determines volume and/or mass flow of a measuring medium based on the measuring signals and/or measuring data. A flow-guiding device (3) is designed such that a flow component is impressed to a partial volume of the tube transverse to a main flow direction of the medium in the tube. The signal path runs and partly lies in partial volume of the tube on the plane. An independent claim is also included for a delay time difference method for determining and/or monitoring flow of a measuring medium through a measuring tube.
