Producing biohydrogen under anaerobic conditions, comprises either mixing reactor mixture containing sugar and/or starchy coferments; chlorine-free water (83 mass%); coferment, limestone (ground) (4 mass%); and arable land (1 mass%) (fresh, obtained from a depth of greater than 20 cm) with rape-seed press cake (12 mass%) or mixing chlorine-free water (70 mass%), limestone (3 mass%) and arable land (2 mass%) with sugar beets (crushed) (25 mass%).
