The circuit has a heat accumulator (1) comprising two heat exchangers (2, 5), a steam chamber (3), a memory material (4) and a heat transfer fluid (6). The exchangers are connected with an engine medium circuit (10). Each exchanger has a supply line and a discharge line, where the supply lines are connected with one another over a valve (9) and with the engine medium circuit. The discharge lines are connected with one another by the valve and with the engine medium circuit. Medium in the medium circuit is oil or cooling water. The exchangers are connected with one another by a connection line.
