The method involves connecting contact areas (3) of wheels with wind channel system. The wheels are detached from a motor vehicle i.e. car, and are held in a position relative to the motor vehicle by external wheel mounts (7) when the wheels are mounted on the wheel mounts. The wheel mounts are provided with force measuring devices (8), which measure vertical forces of the wheels resulting from aerodynamic load. Sillboard holders (2) are connected with the contact areas by a rigid coupling (4). A force measuring device (6) is arranged between the holders and the coupling. An independent claim is also included for a device for determining vertical forces acting on a motor vehicle under wind flow.
