The transport device has a transport base (2) which is supported on transport foots (3). The transport foots are arranged at a distance from each other by releasing a chamber (8) for engaging the transport base by a lifting device, e.g. by a fork of a fork lift. The transport base is provided with a ram protection element (9) at the front edges (7) above the chamber for sectionally engaging the transport base by the lifting device. The transport device is made up of wood-polymer-composite material.
