The device (1) has a housing (10) comprising a measuring- and operating electronic circuits and/or a transmitter e.g. magnetic-inductive flow transmitter, for determining and/or monitoring physical and/or chemical measurands of a substance, where the device is partially made of a composite e.g. natural fiber composite or wood-plastic composite. The composite has a component e.g. thermoplastic, elastomer or duroplastic, made of plastic. The composite has another component made of renewable raw materials e.g. wood, bamboo, flax, kenaf, cork, abaca, sisal or cannabis, and embedded in the plastic.
