Use of polyamine and/or polyammonium-polysiloxane copolymer compound (I) for original equipment of fiber materials, is claimed. Use of polyamine and/or polyammonium-polysiloxane copolymer compound (I) having units of formula (-[Q-V1a]-) (Ia) for original equipment of fiber materials, is claimed. Provided that: (I) contains at least one -Z 1-, Z 2or -Z 3- group; the trivalent and tetravalent Q radicals either serve to branch the main chain formed from Q and V1a such that the valencies which do not serve for binding in the main chain bear further branches formed from -[Q-V1a]- units, or the trivalent and tetravalent Q radicals are saturated by V 3radicals within a linear main chain without formation of a branch; and the positive charges which result from ammonium groups are neutralized by organic or inorganic acid anions. Independent claims are included for: (1) the use of compositions (II) comprising at least one compound of (I) in combination with at least one other compound having various polydiorganosiloxane units; and (2) an aqueous emulsion comprising at least one compound of (I) or the composition (II), and optionally one or more surfactants and one or more nitrogen-free polysiloxane compounds.
