Appropriate parking space determining method for vehicle, involves evaluating information received from measurement signals of sensors in form of displacement indicating patterns in reference to gradient of displacement transitions

The method involves attaching park maneuver assistant sensors to a vehicle, such that the sensors transversely transmit measurement signals between a transverse axis and a travel direction of the vehicle. Information received from the measurement signals are evaluated in the form of displacement indicating patterns (M1-M3) in reference to gradient of displacement transitions (S1-S3). A determination is made whether an object i.e. another vehicle, identified at right side or left side of the vehicle stands or moves in a longitudinal direction using the evaluation result. An independent claim is also included for a device for implementing a method for determining an appropriate parking space for a vehicle.
