The device has a set of clamping rings (4, 5) concentrically arranged around a rotation axis (6), where a set of clamping bodies (7) e.g. cylindrical rolls, is arranged between the clamping rings. A set of support rings (8, 9) is arranged between the two clamping rings and radially guides the two clamping rings relative to each other, where the support rings are arranged in an axial end area of the clamping bodies. The clamping ring (5) forms a passage (10) for axial starting of the support ring (8) that is made of steel or light alloys and/or a mixture of light alloys.
