The device (10) has a housing (4) accommodated with a shaft (20). An inner ring (2), an outer ring (3) and a row of rolling bodies (1) are provided with a bearing (30). The inner ring is integrated with the shaft. The outer ring is arranged in the housing. An angular adjustment unit allows limited angular movement of the inner ring under the effect of stress experienced by the shaft. The outer ring supports a deflection angle of the inner ring such that operation of the shaft and the bearing is optimized, where the inner and outer rings of the bearing are aligned with respect to each other. An independent claim is also included for a method for axial clamping of a bearing on a shaft.
