The spacer (2) has a holding blade (4) arranged parallel to a holding blade (3), and a spacing bracket (5) holding the blades together. The blades are integrally molded at the bracket such that the spacer has a Z- shaped double angle profile. The holding blades comprises holding units (6-9) e.g. claw fastener pairs, that are arranged to fix the holding blades at a side turned towards the spacing bracket, where the holding units lie evenly at counter weight rails. Guide rails are held at a distance from the counter weight rails by the spacing bracket. An independent claim is also included for a rail holding bracket for mounting a lift, comprising a rail spacer.
