The device has a conveying unit (26) for supplying a semi-finished product (10), where the semi-finished product has an end edge (24), at which a pre-impregnated fiber composite material (12) and cover foils (14a, 14b) are concisely locked. A releasing device releases the end edge from extending surface sections (34a, 34b) of the cover foils of the fiber composite material. The releasing device has gas jet arrangements (30, 32), with which a gas jet is generated, where the gas jet is directed towards the end edge. An independent claim is also included for a method for processing of semi-finished products made of pre-impregnated fiber composite material.
