The laser machining system comprises a laser radiation source, a laser head (1), a robot over its robotic arm (2), a receiving device (6) for a workpiece (7) to be machined, a protection housing (3) connected with a suction device, and a device support (4). The receiving device is formed on the device support and a protective cover (5) is positioned with a pre-determined height, whose circulating edge lies at the device support. The protective cover comprises a slot-shaped opening.
