All zones to be marked are fixed on a flexible substrate. The lines to be marked are included as cut-outs in a covering sheet. The several zones to be marked on the pitch have matching, individual patterns or templates. Outer contours are formed by individually colored ropes, the corners being stabilized using right-angled components of plastic or metal. The patterns or templates are laid out on the playing field. A trolley spraying or scattering a color, defines the contours of the playing field zones, in correspondence with the pattern. An independent claim IS INCLUDED FOR the corresponding method.
