The system (10) has an image formation system (12) with two liquid crystal cell arrangements (16, 20) having liquid crystal cells (18.1-18.4, 22.1-22.4). The liquid crystal cell arrangement (16) is guided on the liquid crystal cell arrangement (20) by an imaging unit (38), such that an image produced by the liquid crystal cell arrangement (16) is reproduced on the liquid crystal cell arrangement (20). The imaging unit has reflecting surfaces (46, 48) by which radiation radiated by the liquid crystal cell arrangement is deflected twice to the liquid crystal cell arrangement (20) by reflection.
