The method involves preparing actual state description (IZB) of evaluated arithmetic unit in a machine readable form. Target state description (SZB) of the evaluated arithmetic unit is prepared in a machine readable form. The actual state description is automatically normalized on basis of a normalization command. Actual state description is automatically compared with the target state description. Results obtained by the comparison are automatically appraised on basis of defined rules. An independent claim is included for a system for evaluating state description of arithmetic and data processing units.
