The method involves measuring temperature of a sensor transponder during a period in which a sterilization material (5) is cooled. A measured temperature value and a time point of measurement are utilized after a sterilization process to determine sterilization temperature in sufficient approximation. Identification data of articles i.e. sterilization material, are sterilized and transferred after identifying temperature of the sensor transponder. Time and temperature measurement for sterilization is stored. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for monitoring a sterilization process.
