The positioning unit (2) has a carrier (6) extended in a direction (4) and mountable at an end (8) of an electrical hand tool device. The carrier exhibits variable distance in the direction against the tool device. The carrier has a projection (14) that protrudes on a work piece to be processed in another direction. Outer circumference of the projection is variable, so that the projection is adaptable to size of an opening in the work piece to position the device. The outer circumference is variable between a diameter of 3 and 40 millimeters. An independent claim is also included for an electrical hand tool device, comprising a fastening unit.
