The method involves using a drilling or milling tool (7) for generating accommodating pockets. A sectioned part (10) is provided at ends that face a front side (8) of lateral rings (2), where the sectioned part includes a rotating axis (9) of the drilling or milling tool. The sectioned part is projected in a longitudinal direction (L) in a radial outer region of the ends. A ring groove is extended around the rotating axis corresponding to shape of the projected sectioned part. The ring groove is inserted in the front side of the lateral rings in the radial outer region. An independent claim is also included for a rivet pin cage comprising lateral rings.
