The fitting (1) has a surface (2) exhibiting an antibacterial nano-coating, and a communication unit that is provided for transmitting data via the fitting. The data consists of the date of application of the nano-coating and/or the information about the type of the nano-coating over the fitting. The coating has a silver ion coating consisting of silicon-free siloxane compound. The communication unit is designed as a radio frequency identification transponder (3) which is readable with a reader (11) and accommodated in a door handle (4). An independent claim is also included for a method for durable supply of antibacterial nano-coating on a surface of a fitting.
