The shield (1) has a recess for accommodating a roller bearing (5) i.e. ball bearing, and comprising a material component i.e. metallic sprayed coating, which lie opposite to another material component made of aluminum, magnesium or zinc. The former material component is made of a metal, ceramics, carbon fiber, plastic or cast iron, and a surface layer is formed on the recess by the former material component. The shield is made of aluminum by die-casting, and the roller bearing lies on the surface layer in a radial direction. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a dynamo-electric machine with a stator and a rotor (2) a method for manufacturing a bearing shield of a dynamo-electric machine.
