The system (4) has a fuel cell (5) generating electrical current from anode and cathode gases. A fresh air system (3) supplies fresh air acting as the cathode gas to the cell and has an air inlet (8) spaced from an air inlet (6) such that an inlet hole (9) of the inlet (8) is turned away by a radiator grill (15) and/or a heat source (20) arranged in an aggregate area (2) is turned. The air system has a switching device (21) switching the inlets such that the air is entered into end positions of the device via the inlets in the air system, respectively, during operation of the system (4).
