The equipment i.e. baking oven, (1) has a camera (9) for viewing a cooked food in the equipment. A data communication unit transfers the pictures taken by the camera to a TV set, computer monitor, personal digital assistant, tablet personal computer, mobile telephone, refrigerator and a chimney. The field of vision of the camera is arranged in a cooking chamber (5) or a cooking field from the top. The data communication unit performs data communication in a wireless and/or wired communication network. A display device is provided for displaying the images. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a cooking equipment.
