The device (1) has an estimating mechanism for estimating a quantity of soot, accumulated in a particle filter (6) i.e. diesel particle filter, using a measured value of a differential pressure sensor (9). A computation mechanism computes a reduction rate of the soot, which corresponds to a reduction measure of the quantity of soot per time unit. A regeneration termination mechanism terminates regeneration of the filter, if a value of the rate computed during a period in which the regeneration of the filter is performed, is smaller than a preset reduction rate threshold value.
