The method involves detecting body reactions of a driver of a preceding vehicle (1) by detection collection units (4, 5). A warning notice (W1) is transmitted to a following vehicle (2) by a communication interface (6) i.e. radio interface, by the preceding vehicle during change of the body reactions of the driver, where the change is indicative of emergency and/or stress situations. Optical, acoustic and/or haptische warnings (W2, W3, W4) are produced during receipt of the warning notice in the following vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a device for the warning of following vehicles.
