The beam has a middle part arranged between two frame units (10, 12). The middle part exhibits a box section with a hollow chamber (16) and extends over a partial length of the beam. The frame units are directly connected with one another in a longitudinal area of the beam and are indirectly connected with one another in another longitudinal area of the middle part. The middle part includes a recess (32) provided for a retainer (36) e.g. integral carrier, of a connection component.
