The switchable bucket tappet (1) has a housing (3) with a ring-shaped base (2), where the housing is guided over its skirt (5), at a distance from an outer edge (4) of the base, in a borehole of an internal combustion engine. A cylindrical lug (7) is formed as separate constructional element opposite to the housing. The cylindrical lug is connected in its bottom-side boundary area (15) with an inner edge of the ring-shaped base of the housing.
