The sensor (1) has subsets of matrix-like arranged photo-sensitive color and panchromatic pixels (R, G, B, C) for illumination with a blue light, a green light, a red light and with a light from the entire spectrum of the visible light. The pixels are divided into two groups with an odd-number index and an even-numbered index, respectively, so that the pixel of one of the groups follows the pixel of the other group. The groups are operated with different illumination time, where one of the groups contains the color pixels and the other group contains the panchromatic pixels.
