The diplexer has shunt-connected switching units (14, 15, 19, 20), such as PiN diodes or FETs, and series connected inductors (11, 12, 13) and capacitors (16, 17, 18) respectively connected in lowpass filter and highpass filter branches. The shunt-connected switches selectively connect points in the highpass and lowpass filter branches directly to ground when the highpass filter branch is active and are open circuited when the lowpass filter branch is in use. Additional inductors may be connected in series with the switches and additional capacitors may be connected in parallel with them.
