Spin transition complexes form a group of switchable materials that can change their magnetic, optical, electric, mechanical and other physical properties under the influence of different external stimuli. New application areas of such materials keep constantly emerging. Here we describe several different developing applications of spin-crossover materials: (a) the change of microwave absorption as a result of spin transition; (b) switchable chirooptical properties of spin-crossover materials exhibiting molecular asymmetry; (c) enantioselective detection via effect of guest chiral molecules on the transition characteristics of chiral spin-crossover frameworks.
