The panel (1) has an inner surface (2) arranged opposite to a door panel and an outer surface (4) visible by an occupant of a motor vehicle. A detachable zone is removed from the panel to form a reception opening (8) that receives an insert (10) e.g. light source such as lamp. A tab (12) is integrated to the panel and projected from the surface (2) nearer to the zone. The tab is folded against the surface in a manner to locally increase thickness of an edge part of the opening, when the zone is removed, for permitting fixation of the insert on the edge part of the opening.
