The corrosion protection device for a panel fold (4) of a motor vehicle, is claimed, where the panel fold is formed by a bent at an edge of an outer panel surrounding an inner panel. The inner panel and the outer panel limit an intermediate space in the region of panel fold, where the intermediate space opens at ends (4') of the panel fold. The corrosion protection device is provided by an expanded adhesive, which is sealingly arranged at the end of the panel fold and forms a water deflector that prevents the penetration of water into the intermediate space. The corrosion protection device for a panel fold (4) of a motor vehicle, is claimed, where the panel fold is formed by a bent at an edge of an outer panel surrounding an inner panel. The inner panel and the outer panel limit an intermediate space in the region of panel fold, where the intermediate space opens at ends (4') of the panel fold. The corrosion protection device is provided by an expanded adhesive, which is sealingly arranged at the end of the panel fold and forms a water deflector that prevents the penetration of water into the intermediate space. The panel fold is a vertically extending fold, and the water deflector is arranged at an upper end of the panel fold. The ends of the panel fold are provided with the expanded adhesive. The water deflector is tightly adhered to the inner panel and the outer panel, and fills volume between the inner panel and the outer panel. The water deflector is arranged in the form of a seam, which extends at the end of the panel fold. Independent claims are included for: (1) a vehicle door; and (2) a corrosion protection method for a panel fold.
