- A method of constructing a porous medium adapted to the study of biodegradation phenomena.- A mixture of sand and earth is introduced in a glass column, in a progressive manner so as to form a porous medium whose capillary network is homogeneous over the entire height of the column in terms of pore size distribution. This porous medium is then completely saturated with water, and the water is partially desaturated homogeneously, using a water-impermeable and air-impermeable microporous ceramic membrane. Finally, the pores not filled with water are saturated with oil, and the oil is then partially desaturated homogeneously by using a microporous ceramic membrane that is wettable with oil and impervious to air. the study of polluted soils or hydrocarbon deposits.
