The system has an elaboration block (302) transforming a boost pressure set point into compression ratio set point for low pressure and high pressure turbocompressors. The ratio set point cooperates with a regulator (303) to adjust compression ratio. The regulator cooperates with another regulator (304) to adjust pressure ratio based on a value of pressure ratio set point. A prepositioning block (306) prepositions actuators (308, 309, 400) i.e. flaps. The regulators cooperate with arbitration unit (307) controlling one of the actuators to modify pressure at an output of the turbocompressors. An independent claim is also included for a method for regulating boost pressure for an internal combustion engine.
