The seat has a stopping device (40) with a stop lug (70) movably connected to a seat support (22) or a backrest (20) in a pivoting manner, and a stopper forming part (74) e.g. pulley, arranged on the backrest or the support. A releasing mechanism is associated to the device and releases the device when the seat is brought back in a utilization position. An extension unit is in a form of lever transmission and/or purchase, and is provided between the lug and the mechanism. The unit has a guide pulley (88) around which a Bowden cable(RTM: flexible cable) (64) is guided.
