The piston (P) has a piece (10) forming a head (10a) and a skirt (10b), and another piece forming a yoke including a lower part (11b) to receive a connecting rod pin. The yoke has a bore in its lower part to position the pin. The pieces respectively have complementary support and centering shapes for authorizing their relative positioning and assembly by binding at certain support and centering zones to define a closed chamber (12) receiving coolant e.g. oil. The chamber is filled by ducts fitted and blocked from interior of the piston. An independent claim is also included for a method of fabricating a piston.
