The device has a spring (1) placed in an electrical circuit, and a mobile part, capacitor (C1) and a power source (G) mounted on the spring in a manner to form a resistance-inductance-capacitance (RLC) type resonant circuit. A core is made of magnetic material, and is inserted inside the spring, and electrical quantity measurement units (Uc) measure electrical quantity i.e. voltage (U), in the electrical circuit when the mobile part is in a fixed position. Electrical quantity processing units process the measured electrical quantity so as to determine a position of the mobile part.
